INTERIOR DESIGNER — Residential Design & Build

We are a collaborative residential design-build company seeking an experienced Interior Designer who brings both strong creative vision and technical construction knowledge to the table.

We are specifically looking for someone with genuine design-build experience who understands how thoughtful design translates into real-world construction execution. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while working closely with clients, trades, project managers, estimators, and site supervisors.

You should be equally comfortable discussing layouts and finishes with clients as you are reviewing construction details, coordinating site conditions, reviewing millwork drawings, and supporting procurement and project coordination.

About the Role

This role manages residential renovation and custom home projects from initial concept through finalized design packages and into pre-construction coordination.

You will guide clients through the design process, prepare detailed drawing and specification packages, collaborate with the construction team, and help ensure projects are carried through accurately from paper to site.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Client Experience

  • Lead clients through the residential design process from concept to finalized selections
  • Develop creative, functional, and buildable design solutions tailored to each client’s goals, lifestyle, and budget
  • Work confidently within both large-scale renovations and smaller budget-conscious projects
  • Conduct site measurements, site reviews, and field verification
  • Prepare:
    • Floor plans
    • Elevations
    • Electrical and lighting plans
    • Material palettes
    • Detailed specifications
    • Construction-related design documentation
  • Guide clients through selections including:
    • Cabinetry and millwork
    • Flooring
    • Quartz and countertops
    • Tile and backsplash

    • Interior doors and hardware
  • Ensure all layouts, dimensions, clearances, and specifications are accurate and construction-ready
  • Coordinate revisions and maintain updated documentation throughout the project lifecycle

Technical Strength Requirements

The successful candidate must have strong technical and construction-based design experience, including:

  • Residential construction detailing
  • Millwork and shop drawing review
  • Specification development and specification management
  • Strong dimension accuracy and spatial planning skills
  • Site measurements and as-built verification
  • Electrical and lighting coordination
  • Appliance, cabinetry, and clearance planning

Construction Integration & Site Coordination

This role is highly integrated with our construction team and requires someone comfortable working within an active design-build environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating closely with project managers, site supervisors, trades, and estimators
  • Attending site meetings and walkthroughs regularly
  • Supporting projects through pre-construction and active construction phases
  • Ensuring design intent is clearly communicated to the construction team
  • Reviewing site conditions and assisting in resolving field-related design issues
  • Participating in pre-construction coordination and planning
  • Taking ownership of ensuring drawings, specifications, and selections align with site execution

Operational Discipline & Project Management

This role requires a highly organized and accountable individual who can manage multiple moving parts simultaneously.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing multiple active projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
  • Tracking design hours and maintaining awareness of project budgets
  • Supporting scope management and communicating project changes clearly
  • Maintaining strong communication systems internally and externally
  • Managing documentation processes and revision control
  • Uploading and maintaining project information within CoConstruct
  • Assisting with product ordering, procurement coordination, vendor communication, and tracking material lead times to align with construction schedules
  • Organizing vendor quotes, pricing, and specification information for estimating and purchasing teams
  • Supporting smooth handoffs between design, estimating, administration, procurement, and construction teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of residential interior design experience
  • Strong preference for residential design-build experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or residential drafting software
  • Experience preparing detailed residential drawing and specification packages
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and detailing
  • Familiarity with CoConstruct or similar project management software preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and client presentation abilities
  • AI-forward mindset with openness to integrating technology and efficiency tools into workflows
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites

EXPERIENCED CARPENTER

NOVERO Homes and Renovations is seeking an experienced carpenter to join our growing team. Our company specializes in major renovations – both commercial and residential – as well as new construction.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Experienced Carpenter’s primary responsibilities include assisting the team with tasks for projects of all sizes.

The ideal candidate is hard working, organized, and punctual. As a tight-knit team, we’re looking for someone with honesty, integrity, and a team mindset. You’ll also bring an interest in learning and growing within the construction business.

A minimum of six years of carpentry experience or equivalent education in carpentry is necessary for this position. Knowledge or experience in framing and finish carpentry is preferred as you will be building custom decks and structures. You must also have the ability to read CAD drawings, building plans, and blueprints; and understand the process of managing a construction project.

This position requires owning a reliable vehicle, having a valid Canadian drivers license, owning basic carpentry tools.

You must be living in Canada. This is a position where you are working on the tools for large and small projects.

Applicants will be responsible for:

  • Understanding and having experience in interior and exterior finishing
  • Understanding how to fit and install doors, door frames, hardware; interior and exterior trim

Our company is a full-service design and build team focused on strong workmanship and specializes in major renovations – both commercial and residential – as well as new construction.

This exciting opportunity for a full-time labourer position is ideal for an individual who has a hardworking nature and is looking to gain experience within the residential construction industry, while working with experienced carpenters and site supervisors within the residential field on various sizes and design styles of projects.

As a family-based company, we’re looking for a dynamic individual who will complement our close-knit team. We also require a well-rounded team member who is passionate about carpentry, creating, building, and interior/exterior spaces.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills; and the ability to work independently or as part of a team alongside our project manager, designers, and site team. You must own a vehicle and your own tools. You also have an interest in learning and growing within the business and being a part of a great group of individuals.
