We’re so excited to chat with you all about our next featured designer, Jillian Harris. Not only is she Canada’s sweetheart, but she’s also a very talented interior designer, having worked for big restaurant chains like Cactus Club and Browns Social House. Some may know her from The Bachelor series (she became the first ever Canadian to be cast as The Bachelorette) or from the popular HGTV show Love It or List It. Not only is she entertaining to watch, but we continue to follow her for her incredible sense of design and candid personality.

Here are 5 reasons why we love Jillian Harris:

1. Her bright + neutral color schemes

Soft whites, greys and pastels are a staple in her designs, yet they’re not boring! By adding depth using textures, layers and design–Jillian Harris shows us that with a minimal colour scheme, you can still achieve a sense of comfort and coziness.

2. Her feminine touch

Frilly pillow shams may not be for everyone, but Jillian Harris does it in such a way that looks rich and irresistible. No one can deny that this bedroom looks like a dream to relax in after a hard day’s work!

3. Her candid (and refreshing) personality

If you follow her on Instagram (which we highly recommend that you do), you get to see the beautiful perfection in her images, but also the candid, honest and informational side through her Instagram stories. She also provides a tonne of information to her followers–leaving you with all the tools you need to get the look.

4. Her keen eye for details

Going back to her design skills, her attention to detail is what really stands out. From styling a space to choosing the perfect tile and paint color–she’s got the stuff. It’s easy to find inspiration on her website and styling tips as well.

5. Her willingness to help others

With all her success, Jillian Harris is keen on giving back to the community. She’s worked with many charities and foundations close to her heart such as Mamas for Mamas a charitable organization that supports mothers in crisis, and provides ongoing support to low income Mamas and their kids in Kelowna. When they asked her to come help them choose a paint color, she felt compelled to help further by raising over $70K and providing them with a beautiful renovation. Truly inspiring!
