Canada Day is just around the corner, and in the spirit of being patriotic, we thought it would be fun to look at the best ways to incorporate Canada’s colours into your home. It can be something temporary for the weekend, or you can show your Canadian spirit year round with some of these great ideas!

Accentuate your Patriotism

We love the subtlety of these red and white accents complimenting the overall blue theme of this space. What’s great is that the cushions can be used seasonally and stored throughout the rest of the year. The chair can fit into a variety of spaces and be used as you see fit! This space is patriotic without being too over the top.

Tile It Up

This space is not for the feint of heart. The bright red tiling makes a super bold statement, but being so well balanced with the remaining white bathroom, we couldn’t imagine this space without it! Paired with other bold primary colours, this is a perfect bathroom for the kids because it’s FUN.

At The Tip of Your Toes

What’s the easiest way to bring a patriotic red/white statement to your home? A gorgeous floor rug of course. This is an option for those with commitment issues (especially when it comes to colour) because when you’re sick of it you can throw it in the kids room, donate it to charity or even more Canadian — have a garage sale. Shop this rug selection we found on Wayfair.Ca here.

Go All Out

Now if you REALLY love your country you would paint your whole house red and white–right?

Don’t worry, we’re not going to take it that far. However, we are quite pleased with the bold red/white/concrete palette this modern house has. Against the blue sky and green surroundings, this looks like the perfect statement for those wanting a WOW curb appeal.

Sleep In It

Linens are one of our favourite ways to incorporate a seasonal colour. Whether you’re using it seasonally in the city or  full time at the cabin, red and white linens paired with natural woods give off a 100% Canadiana vibe. And we love it.

Make a First Impression

Front doors are made for bold colours. Find the brightest, boldest red (paired with white trim) to show your patriotism to the neighbours. Red is also a symbol of strength and power along with passion, desire, and love–not a bad first impression to make!

Just Own It

When we came across this image we could not believe how much it reminded us of the Canadian flag! This may not have been the intention of the design but the similarities are striking. It just goes to show that you can find ways to be patriotic when it comes to your home without being cheesy.

We hope you enjoyed this fun article and would love to hear about how you celebrate Canada Day on our Instagram or Facebook!

Happy Canada Day from all of us at Novero Homes & Renovations.
