DMC has recently completed a head-to-toe renovation of a two story duplex home in Vancouver, BC. We teamed up with our good friend and designer Judy Weber and worked with the home owners to create a space that reflects their vibrant personalities. This home includes two full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a Rec room that has been converted into a yoga space with a murphy bed.
The fully re done kitchen features German quartz countertops, custom hickory cabinets, and a beautiful red backsplash that follows the theme of the rest of the house, which is also featured in the two bathrooms. The floor is made of 5 inch wide planked hand scraped maple engineered hardwood that is laid throughout the house and sits on a floating DRIcore® subfloor. Brand new white oversized windows and trims were installed to maximize the natural light in the home as well as create a wide open feeling. The living room on the main floor features a beautifully unique slate fireplace with a rough hewn mantel accent.
The floors of both the entrance and main level bathroom are made of slate tiled flooring. Heading upstairs, the master bedroom walk in closet contains custom built in organizers. The other two bedrooms have been turned into office spaces for each of the home owners, one which includes a new bay window seat perfect for reading and relaxing.
Outside of the home, a new trellis patio are with front entry extension was created to allow for more room when entering. There is cedar board and batten on the two front portions of the house with cedar shingles that stay true to its West Coast roots. The exterior has been fully repainted along with brand new cedar fencing surrounding the perimeter.
