In: Family, Holidays

Christmas is fast approaching! With people already doing their Christmas shopping, Starbucks coming out with their holiday drinks and holiday commercials being aired, it’s hard to not get excited. But what really gets us in the Christmas spirit are the Christmas markets! From the smell of hot chocolate and coffee, all the vendors lined up to sell their products, and the live entertainment of joyful Christmas carolers – we love it all.

In this blog we are going to review our favourite Christmas markets to visit around the Lower Mainland. This is the perfect night out whether you want to take your family, or go on a date night with your significant other.

Miracle on Church Street – Fort Langley

Are you a Hallmark Christmas movie lover? If so, this first year market is for you! 6 wonderful days filled with vendors, live entertainment, food trucks, and much more. December 6-8 & 13-15. During these days, there will be family portraits and free hot chocolate to enjoy.  There is a free movie and popcorn schedule located on the website to help with planning your holiday fun. The wonderful city of Fort Langley will light up like one of your favourite movies. This is also a non-profit market with the donation of tickets going to wonderful charities! A great night out and all for a good cause.

Glow Christmas – Abbotsford

Originally located in Langley, BC, this year Glow Christmas is located in Abbotsford! This Market has everything from vendors and food to the Christmas light gallery which is the highlight of the market for everyone. This year the concept is Santa’s Lost Presents which is an interactive light garden for everyone to experience. The combination of live music, visits with Santa, interactive lights and food and drinks – this is a perfect time for everyone in the family.

Vancouver Christmas Market

One of the most popular Christmas markets in the Vancouver area is the Vancouver Christmas Market.  We love the huge list of vendors and food vendors available. They have their WunderBAR which is a cozy space to enjoy a cocktail (or three) and some appies and the Photo Hut to take photos with Santa. There are plenty of activities for people of all ages.. from a walk through the Christmas trees, to the Christmas carousel. This market will blow you away!

Bright Nights at Stanley Park

Vancouver’s Bright Nights at Stanley Park is always a must-experience during the holidays. This quite easily is one of our children’s favourite experiences – who wouldn’t enjoy the cozy lights in a beautiful holiday setting on an amazing train ride.  There are many other exciting activities to take in such as enjoying Santa’s workshop and photo opportunity. Due to its popularity, you should pre-purchase your tickets online. It is worth it for the holiday experience that you are looking for. Prepare to be amazed!

Aurora Winter Festival – PNE

The Aurora Winter Festival has transformed the PNE into a magical experience. This festival hosts amazing rides, unique food vendors, a tube park, the North Pole, a massive ice skating rink, magical characters from the North Pole and much more. The Aurora Winter Festival is filled with tons of great family activities and a great market to start the Christmas holidays off right.
