This main floor renovation in Coquitlam transformed a once-closed layout into a modern open space for a large family who love to entertain. We realized this by removing the central brick fireplace, relocating the stairs, and introducing beams to carry the load of the upper floors. The payoff is a sweeping great room with 18-foot sliding glass doors that open to the outdoor living space.

The homeowners wanted a monochromatic, minimalist look with a few memorable details. A slatted wood wall with discreet doors wraps from the entry through to the hidden pantry. Materials and textures are repeated through the living areas, creating harmony in the space. In the kitchen, clean-lined cabinetry and polished quartz surfaces are paired with thoughtful touches: a prep sink, integrated storage, and a waterfall island with a built-in white oak dining table seating ten. A dry bar is adjacent to the kitchen showcasing a STACT wine wall. Finishes were chosen to be both family-friendly and striking.
