This contemporary kitchen and living area renovation in Port Moody beautifully blends form and function, catering to the needs of a culinary-loving family while creating a visually stunning space. The project seamlessly integrates the kitchen, dining area, and family room, resulting in an inviting space that embraces the clients' passion for baking.

We transformed the kitchen with the use of neutral tones to create a clean and spacious aesthetic. Classic Grey upper cabinets with satin brass pulls on the back wall paired with a full height quartz backsplash brighten the room. The remaining cabinetry is rift cut white oak with matte black pulls finished in two different stains. The design cleverly utilizes vertical space, incorporating floor-to-ceiling millwork to provide practical storage while drawing the eye upward, emphasizing nine-foot ceiling height. The custom box range hood is a focal point in the room, in a dark wood stain to match the island cabinetry. The combination of light and dark materials adds visual contrast, creating depth and interest within the space.

Despite its minimalist appearance, the kitchen packs a lot of function. Numerous integrated storage solutions maximize efficiency such as an appliance lift for the frequently-used stand mixer, appliance garage, lazy susan, and pull-outs for garbage & recycling. Roll-out pantry and tray pull-out drawers further enhance the kitchen's practicality, ensuring every inch of space is utilized effectively. The kitchen boasts a full Miele appliance package, including a combination steam oven, convection oven, and separate warming drawer. The black Blanco Metra sink features two bowls and a drain board. A paneled refrigerator and freezer maintain the sleek, integrated look. Lastly, the double-height island serves multiple purposes, offering seating for casual meals, additional storage, and a lower baking counter.

Just beyond the kitchen, the family room and dining room feature striking slat wall millwork in rift cut oak. All three areas are finished in the same materials and colour palette, creating a visual connection and cohesive flow between the rooms. Unique fixture details add personality and sophistication to the design. Black and gold finishes are consistently used throughout the renovated areas such as the two-tone Lennox kitchen faucet, pendant light, and the mix of cabinetry hardware. In the dining room, CB2 knobs cleverly continue the slatted design feature.
