  • Location: Coquitlam, BC

What started as a ‘simple refresh’ for a couple’s 70’s-era Coquitlam house soon expanded into a tailor-made remodel that embraces modern farmhouse style.

A bright entry now makes an inviting first impression, with anthracite tile floors and warm wood stairs (Synergy vinyl plank) leading up a white shiplap-clad staircase. The stairs are finished with custom metal straight picket spindles and wood hand railings stained to match the flooring. The clients knew exactly what they wanted in the kitchen: an appliance garage to tuck away a coffee bar, a wood-wrapped hood fan stained to match the floors, and oak open shelves with recessed lighting. The island provides more storage and is painted grey (Benjamin Moore Racoon Fur) to echo the veining in the marble subway tile backsplash. Both bathrooms were reconfigured, and feature B&W basket weave tile floors. The master ensuite includes a 6’ double vanity and a walk-in shower.
