This custom home was a labour of love for the homeowners, who spent five years living on the half-acre property while planning a home designed around family life and entertaining. After demolishing the original house, they built a two-storey, 10,000-square-foot residence for their family of five, complete with a fully self-contained in-law suite for the grandparents. Connected by an interior door, the suite offers both independence and the flexibility to bring everyone together under one roof.
Designed for everyday entertaining, the home’s open-concept layout draws your eye through a series of welcoming gathering spaces to the expansive outdoor living area beyond. The entry opens into the great room, where a concrete-finished fireplace framed by two picture windows creates a natural focal point. To the left, an Eclipse folding door opens the room completely to the covered patio, creating a seamless connection between indoors and out.

The great room flows effortlessly into a streamlined kitchen centred around a waterfall-edge double island with seating for six. Designed to support both everyday living and larger gatherings, the space includes generous storage, a dedicated bar, baking station, walk-in pantry, second refrigerator, and panel-ready appliances integrated within walnut and stained matte black ash cabinetry.
The kitchen’s minimalist design balances clean lines with warm natural materials. A limited palette of black, white, grey, and earthy accents is layered with concrete floors, brick feature walls, exposed wood beams, custom cabinetry, and built-in casework, creating a home that feels contemporary without sacrificing warmth or texture.
Beyond the main living spaces, the home features a formal dining room with a glass-enclosed wine cellar, a dramatic black powder room, and a primary ensuite with a sunken tub. Outside, the backyard is designed for entertaining with a pool, hot tub, firepit, covered lounge, and outdoor kitchen complete with a brick pizza oven.
An accessory building at the rear of the property provides additional storage, parking, and flexible space for hosting family and friends.
